C. 1930–1950 Qashqai tribal rug, handwoven in Southern Persia.
Terracotta field with triple diamond medallions in teal, gold, and ivory — a balanced geometric layout softened by age and the glow of natural dyes.
100% wool on wool foundation, entirely handspun and vegetable-dyed.
A stunning natural-dye palette typical of early to mid-20th-century Qashqai work:
• Field: Deep terracotta brick with undertones of rust and copper
• Medallions: Teal, mint, ivory, and gold ochre
• Borders: Indigo ground with coral, saffron, and turquoise blossoms
• Highlights: Soft yellow (likely weld-dyed), faded to a rich straw tone
• Dye Integrity: 100% natural — note the color variation and abrash especially in the blue areas, which confirms small-batch vegetable dyeing

When dealing with antique and vintage rugs it is very common to see color & size variations, signs of wear, repairs, etc. I photograph using natural light only.
