A richly colored vintage hand-knotted wool rug featuring a repeating field of geometric gül-style medallions set against a saturated red ground. Deep brown and near-black outlines give the pattern strong definition, while accents of burnt orange, ivory, muted plum and charcoal add depth throughout.
The wide border is especially striking, with bold angular motifs framing the more regimented central field. The wool has a dense, tactile pile with visible age and character, giving the rug a wonderfully grounded, collected feel.
Its scale makes it easy to use beside a bed, in an entry, office, sitting area or layered into a larger room. The palette is warm and dramatic without feeling overly bright.
