A striking vintage Persian runner featuring a dramatic procession of connected geometric medallions outlined in stepped ivory and deep navy. The richly saturated palette combines ruby red, raspberry, coral, blush, apricot, warm ivory and nearly black indigo, creating a bold but highly collected look.
Likely woven in the Hamadan region of Northwest Persia, this village-made runner has the strong geometry, crisp drawing and densely patterned borders associated with western Persian weaving. The elongated 12’9” format is especially desirable for a long hallway, entry passage or kitchen corridor.
Unlike many runners of this age, the wool pile remains plush and substantial, with beautifully preserved color and strong overall definition. Hand-knotted in wool and full of the subtle irregularities that distinguish a one-of-a-kind village weaving.
