A wonderfully graphic little runner with a deep charcoal-brown central field anchored by three stacked geometric medallions in raspberry, wine red and faded coral. Soft camel and olive motifs break up the dark ground, while an ivory inner border is filled with charming, highly stylized animal and bird-like forms — the kind of imperfect, individual drawing that gives village rugs so much personality.
The outer border returns to a saturated raspberry-wine tone, creating a strong frame around the lighter ivory passages. Areas of naturally lowered pile reveal more of the foundation and give the rug its beautifully timeworn, almost painterly character.
