Hand-knotted wool on cotton, mid-century Persian (Kashan/Kerman school), c. 1945–1960. A soft, scalloped central medallion floats on a brick/raspberry field, framed by a deep cocoa/charcoal border packed with Shah-Abbas palmettes, rosettes, and scrolling vines. Teal, sky, camel, and parchment accents lift the florals, while natural abrash (those gentle tonal shifts across the field) adds movement and that time-earned character you can’t fake—a true vintage one-of-one.
Condition
Even, low/medium pile with scattered age fade (abrash), a few small, old repairs, secure edges; lays flat and presents beautifully.
