Hand-knotted in the Hamadan region of northwest Iran, this mid-20th-century Persian rug features a warm terracotta field softened by decades of graceful wear. A classic central medallion anchors the design, framed by floral spandrels and a traditional rosette border rendered in muted camel, blush, sage, and charcoal tones.
Woven entirely by hand with a wool pile on a cotton foundation, this piece shows the subtle irregularities and natural abrash that define true village rugs. The low-to-medium pile has been beautifully worn in, giving the rug a matte, heirloom finish that feels collected rather than new.
