Vintage Lichen Oushak rug 5’ 7 x 7’ 2

Hand-knotted wool with that coveted sun-washed patina. The field is a soft olive/caramel ground with celadon, sand, and charcoal outlines, scattered with floating palmettes and rosettes in an allover Sultanabad/Oushak style. Natural abrash (tone variation from hand-dyed wool) gives it movement and a beautifully lived-in look. Anatolia/Turkey, in the Oushak–Sultanabad tradition (also seen in “Chobi/Ziegler” workshop pieces) circa 1940-1960
