A beautifully aged vintage Persian runner, hand-knotted in western Iran and attributed to the Malayer weaving region, circa 1930s–1940’s
An exceptionally deep indigo field is arranged with elongated floral medallions, scrolling vines, palmettes and scattered blossoms in faded coral, brick red, warm ivory, green and touches of turquoise. Multiple floral borders frame the composition, giving the narrow runner a richly layered pattern without overwhelming its dark ground.
The hand-drawn variation, softened palette and visible age give this piece the unmistakable character of an older Persian village rug.
