This vintage hand-knotted runner was woven in Eastern Anatolia in the early 20th century, reflecting strong Caucasian and Armenian village weaving traditions. The elongated format is anchored by a bold central medallion and repeating axis motifs—elements traditionally associated with balance, protection, and continuity.
The palette leans decisively red-based rather than pink, with saturated garnet and brick tones layered against deep indigo, near-black outlines, and muted ivory accents. Subtle abrash and tonal variation throughout the field are the result of natural vegetable dyes and decades of gentle wear, giving the surface depth and movement rather than uniform color.
Woven from wool on a wool foundation, the pile has a soft, matte finish typical of village rugs made for daily use. The structure remains sound and well-balanced, making this piece both visually striking and highly functional as a hallway or kitchen runner.

When dealing with antique and vintage rugs it is very common to see color & size variations, signs of wear, repairs, etc. I photograph using natural light only. I do not retouch or otherwise manipulate images of rugs. Prices are very competitive because the rugs are not professionally cleaned. Every rug is however vacuumed two times front and back.
