A timeworn vintage Anatolian prayer rug, hand-knotted in wool and dating to the mid-20th century (circa 1950–1960). This piece features a traditional mihrab (prayer niche) design that has softened beautifully over decades, creating a muted, almost watercolor-like effect.
The field has worn down to a soft ivory base with washed crimson and earthy tones, giving it a quiet, collected presence. Rather than bold contrast, this rug offers depth through age—subtle, tonal, and rich with character.
This is a piece that reads more like a found textile than a traditional rug—ideal for layering, draping, or adding a sense of history to a space.
