This vintage Persian tribal runner features a bold madder-red field anchored by a striking central medallion and a repeating lattice of geometric motifs. The design language is characteristic of village-woven rugs from the Hamadan and Kurdish regions of northwest Persia, where patterns were passed down through generations and woven from memory rather than formal cartoons.

The saturated red ground is balanced with indigo blues, inky browns, soft ivory, and subtle saffron accents, creating strong contrast and visual rhythm. The motifs: stylized florals, hooked forms, and small architectural elements…give the rug a distinctly tribal, graphic presence that reads equally well in traditional and modern interiors.

This piece was woven for everyday use, which is reflected in its sturdy handle, practical scale, and honest wear. It works beautifully in hallways, kitchens, entryways, or layered spaces, where a narrower runner adds warmth and character without overwhelming the room.

Condition: Good vintage condition with even wear, light patina, and minor age-appropriate wear. Clean and ready for use.

When dealing with antique and vintage rugs it is very common to see color & size variations, signs of wear, repairs, etc. I photograph using natural light only. I do not retouch or otherwise manipulate images of rugs. Prices are very competitive because the rugs are not professionally cleaned. Every rug is however vacuumed two times front and back.
