A striking vintage Persian gallery rug, hand-knotted in western Iran and dating approximately to the mid-20th century.
Two monumental hooked medallions anchor a saturated red field, each outlined in faded coral, terracotta and dark brown. Smaller stylized animals, birds, flowers and geometric devices are scattered throughout the field, adding the expressive character associated with traditional village weaving.
A series of ivory, rust and dark-toned borders frame the composition, balancing the oversized central motifs with finer floral and geometric detail.
