C. 1920–1940 Heriz-Serapi runner from northwest Persia, hand-knotted in wool with a vivid field and indigo border. Tribal florals bloom across the length of this piece, grounded by teal and blush accents and softened by nearly a century of patina
• Layout: Central Heriz medallion with branching floral and vine motifs radiating symmetrically
• Borders:
• Main border: “Turtle-vine” or Herati-inspired palmette sequence in indigo
• Guard borders: Zigzag ivory and coral — highly recognizable Heriz detailing
• Visual Character: Dynamic and architectural — large motifs, open field spacing, and powerful color balance
• Type: Heriz–Serapi (village workshop)
• Region: Northwest Persia, Azerbaijan district
• Era: c. 1920–1940
• Weave Origin: Village-level production — likely woven in a smaller satellite village of the Heriz region (Ahar or Bakhshayesh)

Please note: These rugs are old and have lived a long life. When dealing with antique and vintage rugs it is very common to see color & size variations, signs of wear, repairs, etc. I photograph using natural light only. I do not retouch or otherwise manipulate images of rugs. Prices are very competitive because the rugs are not professionally cleaned. Every rug is however vacuumed two times front and back.
