This vintage tribal runner carries the moody, saturated palette collectors love in Baluch weavings — rich indigo, deep brick red, and warm earthen neutrals arranged in bold geometric medallions.
Hand-knotted in the late 20th century, this piece reflects traditional Afghan tribal craftsmanship, where symbolic motifs and strong architectural borders were woven to create rugs that were both functional and deeply expressive. The compartmentalized medallion layout gives the rug beautiful visual rhythm, while the darker ground allows the colorwork to glow in changing light.
The wool pile has a medium density with a soft, slightly matte finish that has aged beautifully. Areas of natural wear add depth and character while preserving full usability, making this an ideal heirloom piece for high-style layering, entryways, kitchens, or hallways

When dealing with antique and vintage rugs it is very common to see color & size variations, signs of wear, repairs, etc. I photograph using natural light only. I do not retouch or otherwise manipulate images of rugs. Prices are very competitive because the rugs are not professionally cleaned. Every rug is however vacuumed two times front and back.
