This handwoven wool Persian Malayer runner carries over a century of artistry in its tight asymmetric knotting, luminous lanolin-rich wool, and madder-dyed field. A rhythmic lattice of medallions and florals unfolds in shades of ember red, tobacco brown, and slate indigo—naturally softened through age and oxidation.
Original selvage and fringe remain intact, a rare testament to its preservation.
Classic Malayer lattice-medallion field with repeating diamond and stylized floral motifs.
Alternating rows of boteh and Herati-inspired geometry flow through the design, framed by deep borders in tobacco and midnight. The rosette-and-vine motif along the border marks the hallmark of late Qajar-period Malayer weavers.
Subtle abrash in the pink-red tones and oxidized indigo hues attest to its authenticity—an exquisite example of natural vegetable-dye fading developed over more than a century.

Please note: These rugs are old and have lived a long life. When dealing with antique and vintage rugs it is very common to see color & size variations, signs of wear, repairs, etc. I photograph using natural light only. I do not retouch or otherwise manipulate images of rugs. Prices are very competitive because the rugs are not professionally cleaned. Every rug is however vacuumed two times front and back.
